Another Birthday! (It was mom's)

My birthday is at the end of March and my mom's birthday is in April, which makes for a pretty fun month! My mom's birthday was this last Thursday, and it was pretty cool.

If you had read my 12th Birthday post, you would know that we just went out to a restaurant and opened some presents. My mom was a lot more classy than that.

She had a Babbos Italian restaurant gift card from a while ago, and we just ordered online and than went to pick it up later. We got to sit on the living room floor on top of blankets, picnic style, and eat and watch a movie.

The food was amazing, and it was awesome

to just sit back and drink an Italian soda. The only negative was that we actually had to go to school the next day, which I think is outrageous!

We didn't do anything on Friday, but Saturday my mom and dad went out to see a movie, so my grandma came over and we all got to watch our own movie, which was Spaceballs!

Sunday held the big party though, with my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Everybody sat around and had a good time, and we got pizza delivered for dinner. There was more talking, dessert and the cake (which was also for my uncle since his b-day was a week ago), and finally present opening. It was an awesome day, and we were all tired by the end of it.

It's worth doing for my mom though, and on that note, thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB!

Soccer + Bowling with teachers

For a lot of people, one of the best things about the weekend is sleeping in. I can only do that once in a while though because of soccer. I love soccer, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t get why someone would have to go all the way from Glendale to Scottsdale at 8 o’clock in the morning!

Fortunately, it is worth it when you are playing a team that you keep playing and beating over and over again! After that, my friend and I had to go straight to our indoor games, which were actually back to back! That was not as fun.

We keep playing all of these kids that are way bigger than us, and they are way faster and stronger than any of the kids on our team. The most annoying thing is that if we were their age, we would beat all of them, because they are really not that good. We were crushed in both games, and as a side note I had actually been a little sick and was coughing, which didn’t help matters.

I went to my friend's house afterwards because a long time ago our school had a raffle where you could win different events to go with certain teachers. My friend had actually won two, and one of them was going bowling with two teachers!

He had invited me to come, and so we went over to his house to change before we headed back out. We left after lunch, and we were supposed to meet our other friend at the bowling place along with the teachers. After we all arrived, we paid for two games and got started. I did not do so good in the first game, in fact I actually lost by about thirty points!

In my defense though, I am pretty sure that the last time I played was in 3rd grade. None of us were doing that good, and we actually had to put the rails up to block the gutters. The second game was a lot better though, and I actually came in third out of five, which is pretty surprising. Each of the teachers had won one of the games, and so they left a little bit after that.

We were going to, but then we stopped so that we could play one shootout of basketball in the arcade. Then we left for real and they dropped me off, ending a nice Saturday. So thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB!

GP Basketball: Win at the Buzzer.

Hi everyone! I thought I would write a quick post about how we won a school basketball game against Scottsdale Prep this week! This was the most difficult game we have had this whole season, and we could not really sub anyone out for too long or else the other team would start scoring more points.

We played them Wednesday night at home and we tipped off at 4. It was a really even game, but we got some momentum and were going to finish the half 11-6. But then we pulled out our best point guard, and another kid had to take his spot. Every time that we got the ball, they would double team us and our players kept trying to dribble past them, which they are not exactly capable of.

Our new point would either try to dribble past them or chuck it to somebody from half-court. He turned the ball over six times in a row, and they got an easy six points and the lead going into the second half. Our coach was not pleased. Not only with the points, but he had put in a second string player in the last minute that had no idea what he was doing and did not play defense.

Coach gave him a very quick lecture before the second half about paying attention during practice, and then sat him out the rest of the game. The whole half  was low scoring, but the other team was pulling away with the game. With about five minutes left, they were up by eight. Then we made a couple of shots and with two minutes left, we were down by four. Then our tallest player had two free throws that could have helped us win the game a lot easier, but he missed both of them.

Immediately after those two, he got two more. and guess what? He misses both of them. We stopped them from making any more shots except for one free throw, and with about forty seconds left, a player named Max threw the ball up and it actually went in! We were down by one and on their second-to-last drive they did not get it.

So then with fifteen seconds left, we ran up the court and the same kid flung it up and it went in again! None of us could believe it, and there was only 0.4 seconds on the clock. The crowd was going crazy, and we won the game by ONE point!

So thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB! There is one problem though. We have to play them in Scottsdale next week!

12th Birthday

(Eating at Smash Burger)
This week was my 12th Birthday. It was on Wednesday (March 30th) and I had a great time.

Throughout Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, our whole school had been taking the AZ Merit Tests and we had not gotten homework except for in Math. Math was the only one that could give you homework so that you can study for the AZ Merit, but since Wednesday was the last day of testing, every teacher could give you homework.

It was disappointing, but I was able to get my first 4 subjects done during Lunch and Lyceum (break). The rest were easy to get done after school and at about 5:30 we went out with my grandparents to Smash Burger.

Everyone enjoyed it, and my Uncle Lou was not an exception. He was even wondering if there was one of them by where he lived! I opened a couple of presents that were
great (FIFA 16 and Adidas skate shoes), was sung a quick happy birthday (because my mom learned you cannot put a lighted candle into a shake), and then we went home. And just for the record, FIFA 16 is great in case you were thinking about buying it, especially when you crush your dad!

We finished off the weekend with my family birthday on Sunday. People came a little bit after noon, and we ordered pizza and wings from Barro's. I got a couple more presents, and everybody would just talk around the table outside, having a good time.

My grandma had made an ice cream cake that was delicious, and my other grandma had brought her huge dog named Hank! The food was good and a few hours later, people started heading out. It was a great birthday week, and I still get to have a party with my friends next weekend.

So thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB for more adventures! Comment below on what your best birthday was like!
