An event-filled week

Making a custom board

There was a lot going on this week. There was tons of stuff to do, and Easter was this Sunday. It started on Tuesday by getting a NEW BOARD.

We went over to Industrial Rideshop in the evening,
the same place where we got new wheels on my dad's old board. That place ended up not being the best. Last time we went there, they had a very big selection, but this time, there was hardly anything. Not only that, but the girl working there was not very helpful and she was also rude.

My dad asked if they could build a board for us, and she kept talking about calling other stores. So next we went right across the walkway to a place called Zumiez. They had a really good looking deck, so we decided to see what we could do with it. A guy came over to help us and he was nice. He also had a great vocabulary, such as "gnarly" and "sick." They ended up having everything we needed. The board had clear griptape, a red, wooden deck, red bearings, black wheels, and black trucks.

Out by the pool
On Saturday, my friend Joe was able to come to my house. Good old Joe is on my indoor and outdoor team and after an early practice, he came home with us and stayed there until Four o'clock. We did lots of things, but the highlight of all of it is that we went into the pool, but we actually stayed in for a while! We would go in and then get out and then go back in for a while.

And then the last day was Easter. Like any other Easter, we went to church in the morning, had a snack when we got back, and then head over to our grandparents house at 2. We had a nice lunch and had a great time there. We left at about 6, and we were all exhausted from the long weekend. So thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB!

Spring Break: Day Seven

Today was the saddest day all week. It was also a pretty simple one. We started off by walking down the beach one last time. When we got far enough, we went onto the sidewalk by the stores and got bagels for breakfast. Then we headed back to the condo to pack everything up.

That took about an hour and a half. Then we made trips down to the car, went to the lobby to turn in the keys, got in the car, and just like that, we were GONE! The trip back was a lot more boring then the trip to the beach.

We got to the Circle K relatively fast, using the same two stops that we had before. Then we had our lunch in the car after that, and in about two hours we got to the Texaco. The trip from Texaco to home felt the longest, despite the fact that it was the same distance, Collin took a nap, along with me and Beau.

We eventually got back, unpacked, and got some Chinese food. We were all really depressed and went to bed after that. On that happy note, thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB!

Spring Break: Day Six

This was the last day of being on Coronado. It was super sad but we wanted to make the most of it. We actually were not on the island for the first half of the day because we drove down to Mission Beach so we could skate and eat lunch.

My mom and Beau had to just walk around for a while. When we had skated north and south of the beach, we went to a couple of the board shops. One was called Hamels, and it was very old. My dad said that he would go there all the time. The next one had a lot more room and it was pretty new.

It had a lot more space inside, and had some really good boards. Not only that, but they actually had my dad's brothers first board. The EXACT same one. When both of them were about 16 my dad got a
Uncles board is second in!
board that had the British flag and my uncle got one with the Japanese flag. Now that I have seen the Japan one, I can say they both look really cool!

Once we finished looking at those, we headed out to go have lunch. My mom and dad had this idea that we could go to the original Rubios, but when we showed up it didn't look right. We found out that it wasn't the original, and my dad just tried to convince all of us that they must have switched buildings or something.

So after I got my drink and some waters, I walked outside where my dad was talking to the waiter. I only had to hear the last two lines to know that the original is still running, but by that time we had already ordered.

So then my mom tried to convince us that this was better because it had more space, and we just had to settle on that idea. When we finished, my parents wanted to drive past the original anyways, but guess what? They still couldn't find it. At that point we just gave up and went back to Coronado.

At night we were going to go get ice cream after dinner but we were not going to have time, so we thought we could go get it now and then we would go on the beach. We got Collin a sorbet at a frozen yogurt store because he cannot have dairy, and then my mom and I went into this ice cream store called Mootime. It was really good ice cream, but my mom was just mad that they did not have pistachio.

She seemed to have a problem with a lot of these stores! (see what she did to a smashball guy on Day 4!) So then we went down to the beach and played catch and all of that stuff. Then when we were about to leave something insane happened. Collin started yelling and sprinted straight into the ocean!!!!!!

Hewould NOT get out and he had his crocs on so my dad and I had to go in and get his shoes off. We didn't care about getting him out if he wanted to stay in, but about FIFTEEN minutes passed and we were all pretty much soaked. And it got worse. When I wasn't looking, a big wave hit me from behind and I fell over.
Collin having a good last day
It was bad. We finally got him out and we went to the jacuzzi as fast as we could. It felt like it was 200 degrees and I had to jump into the regular pool first. When we got warmed up after a while, we drove down to the dog beach where my mom would play with Beau so he could get one more day of exercise.

Meanwhile, I skated with my dad and brother up and down the sidewalks until we were ready to go. Then we got back, ate, and watched a movie to end our trip.

So thanks for reading guys and find out what the departure day is like tomorrow on TBB! I hoped you have enjoyed this Spring break series! (Click here to read Day 7).

Spring Break: Day Five

This fifth day of Spring break was the only day where we went down to the other side of the island toward the bay.
Skating down the sidewalk by the beach

Once again, we set out in the late morning to go to the bay side because we planned to play around a little bit there. We thought that by then it would be lunch time and we could go to a really good pizza restaurant called Village Pizzeria.

We also wanted to skate on the sidewalk around the the restaurant but when we looked, it said no skateboarding. We decided we could still kick and play catch but after a little bit it was just too hot and it still was too early to eat. So we put the stuff back in the car and had to walk to Boney's Bayside Market instead because Collin still needed to get some food anyways.

It wasn't exactly as planned, but after we dropped it off in the car it was time to eat. The pizza place was not crowded, and the food was pretty good. The day had started to get better from there.

My dad and I split an 18 inch pizza because we were going to watch the Arizona game at night and we needed the left overs, and my mom was going to go visit her friend named Tracey who lives in California.

When we got back, we had about an hour before she had to leave and we had to drop her off. So Collin my dad, and I decided to try and skate down to the dog beach. We made really good time and got back to the condo where my mom was ready to go.

After we got back from dropping her off, we went down to the pool since we had time to kill and when we got back we took showers, ate dinner, and then got ready to watch the game... it was NOT a fun night. Check the score. It may not have been a good ending to the day but it was still a great day. Kadeem Allen, if you read this then shame on you.

Thanks for reading and tune in for this LAST DAY of Spring break on TBB! (Click here to read Day 6).

Spring Break: Day Four

Today was the fourth day of Spring break and we spent most of it on the beach. In the late morning we went to the store Vons just to get a couple more snacks and then we went to the dog beach with Beau again.

Even though that we had already gone there, (see Day 2) we didn't stay there that long because we had walked all the way down from the condo, but today we were planning on staying there for a while.

We were there for a long time, and we had also went out and bought paddles and a ball to play "Smashball". Beau was exhausted and we he would just get the towel dirty and lay in the shade! It was about 3:00 when we left and we were really tired.

The plan was that we would take showers early because we
were going to go to Miguel's which is a REALLY good Mexican restaurant, but we ended up getting distracted because we saw that the jacuzzi by the pool was empty. That meant that we had to go in of course. Only problem was that when my mom swiped her card it was not working so when we had to go get it checked it turned out that it was just our machine that was not working.

We were bummed, but when we were heading back, someone had walked in and the gate was open so... we got to stay there for a while and then we went up to the condo to take showers.

We walked to the restaurant because it was not that far and when we arrived, there was no wait! Even better was that our food came in about 15 minutes! It was really good and after we walked around for a bit. Mom wanted to look for extra smash balls, and was NOT impressed when one store had some for 2 dollars a ball. She gave the guy a piece of her mind, politely telling him that other stores had them for way cheaper.

When we later found 3 for $3, she wanted to go back and show the guy what we had found. We finally walked on the beach back to our building and we were ready to go to bed. It was another great day and we still have two more to go!

Thanks for reading guys and don't forget to watch for posts the next TWO DAYS on TBB! If you want to see more pictures of today just leave a comment below for me and I will be sure to get back to you! (Click here to read Day 5).

Spring Break: Day Three.

So we made it to the third day of Spring break! This day was definitely not as crazy as the other two, but it was still pretty interesting.

We left to go to Point Loma late in the morning because we were going to check Cabrillo National Park that surrounded one of the highest light houses in the United States. We stayed there for a while, walking around a lot.

They let you walk into the old lighthouse, but you cannot go into the very top where the light was. They actually did have a separate building that held the original light! (It was huge!). Then we went on the trail that was there that looped around, showing a lot of stuff that was around the lighthouse. When we got back up, we went to the car and drove to the tidepools that were not far away.

That ended up being kind of a waste of time,
Arriving at Point Loma Seafoods.
because the tide was too high. By then, it was around 2:00 so we went to Point Loma Seafoods for a late lunch. That place was still really busy but it was still very good food.

Then we went back to the condo, and after resting there for a bit, we went down to the beach to play around. Collin, my brother, kept talking about how he wanted to go in the ocean, but as soon as he got close he would turn around and walk away, hoping that nobody was looking!

Then we went back up and to end the day we went back to the park across the street and skated there a while. Definitely a more organized day, but it was still a complete one.

I hope you guys have been enjoying this Spring series so thanks for reading and tune in EVERY DAY THIS WEEK on TBB! As always, leave a comment if you would like to see more pictures of today! (Click here to read Day 4).

Spring Break: Day Two

A tired out Beau
Today is the second day of Spring break. It was also a day of a lot of walking. It started with walking down the coast to the dog beach for Beau. That was a really long walk and then we stayed there for a while. Beau got pretty tired.

Next up on the list for the day was walking down to Orange Avenue. We went to grab lunch from Which Wich and then checked out one of the parks. And THEN we went back up to the condo to have lunch. After that we got in the car and drove down to Imperial Beach.

The first time that we went to Imperial was on a trip last Summer and it was really awesome! This time we just swung by because mom wanted to check out bike rentals. While we were there we walked around and then went to a park that is right outside from where we stayed last Summer.

We drove back to Coronado and stopped at the park that is by where we were staying now and rode our scooters and skateboards around. Right before we went back up, we played two on two in football with my brother and I against our parents. Then we went up and got some Mexican food from La Salsa and then watched a movie.

Another successful day in Coronado! So thanks for reading everyone and tune in EVERY DAY THIS WEEK on TBB! If you would like to see more pictures of the day please leave a comment! (Click here to read Day 3).

Lets not talk about it.

Spring Break: Day one.

Today was the day that we finally set out to Coronado Island. The whole family has been waiting for this day and now was the time. We set out on the journey and prepared
Ready to go
for a long ride and we had never had a smoother morning... and then 20 minutes in we realized that my brother Collin had forgotten his Ipad. So we went back and then set out again.

Everybody could not wait to get there. Even the dog Beauregard (who got to ride up with my brother and I for more space) was excited. Our first stop, about three hours in, was the unbelievably amazing Texaco.
Yep, we stop at this Texaco every time we go to California
World famous Texaco.
and I think that I have gotten to know it well.

True story, my mom tried to convince us to go through a road in Yuma instead in order to save some time, but I knew that this way was sacred. And that is why we went back this way again. Anyways, that is just barely on the Arizona side of the border and then about ten minutes later you cross the river.

Then you ride through most of California and then stop at a Circle K. Lets just say that their bathrooms are messy. This time they had some entertainment though, because this one guy who was flipping a sign for a realty company was singing songs on the corner of the road!

And finally, we come into Coronado. Straight over the tall bridge and into the little city, driving straight down Orange Avenue. At last we had arrived, and we were going to make this a great trip.

So thanks for reading and tune in EVERY DAY THIS WEEK on TBB! If you would like to see more pictures of today or other days to come, please leave a comment. I would be happy to send more pictures to you so that you can really know what it is like here! (Click here to read Day 2).

U of A Senior Day

"Redout" Stadium
This weekend was great. I started off with a club soccer game and the next day I was able to go get new turfs, which are basically cleats for playing indoor. If you are wondering why I got those, I also just started an indoor league! But the best part of the weekend was the U of A game.

My dad had a friend that gave him two tickets and it was going to be at 2:00 on Saturday. We were playing Stanford, who is not that good, and I was really excited to go. So right after the soccer game, my dad and I started driving straight to Tuscon.

When we got there, we went into a parking garage that was about half a mile from the stadium. We had about an hour, but only because I wanted to go in really early so that we could watch warm ups. There were many restaurants there for lunch, but thankfully they had a Subway right around the block.
Eat Fresh
After that, we walked to the campus and ate there, and after THAT we walked to the stadium. The stadium was really cool inside and they had retired jerseys on the walls and many athletes names were hung up in a ring above the court. We watched the teams warm up, and eventually they tipped off and the game had started.

Arizona started off strong with a 7-2 lead, and from there on out it just got worse and worse for Stanford. When you took your seat, there was a sign that had a 3 on it that you hold up when ever someone hit a three pointer, and you really got your money's worth out of it. Gabe York hit 3 threes in a row and could not miss, while Kaleb Tarczewski was dunking every chance he got. They were both seniors, so it was their last time playing at McKale Center. Even the backup that was a senior hit two threes in a row, and he was going crazy.

The game finally finished, leaving Stanford fans crying at home. The final score was 94-62. Afterwards, there was a senior ceremony which was really nice, and I got to listen to Sean Miller's (who is the head coach) voice crack in real life!

Afterwards, we walked back down the campus to the car, stopped at an Albertsons, and drove back home. Well, thanks for reading and tune in next week on TBB! Oh, and one more thing. BEAR DOWN!
